'Safe Routes to School' Ground-Breaking Friday at Gardner Bullis School

 

The Town of Los Altos Hills will host a ground-breaking ceremony celebrating the beginning of the Safe Routes to Schools improvements.  

The event will take place at Gardner Bullis School at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012.

The project location is on Fremont Road between Edith Avenue (south of the bridge) and Concepcion Road. 

“Los Altos Hills is delighted to begin work on the Fremont Road Safe Routes to School improvement project,” said Mayor Rich Larsen. “This will enable safe, off-road passage for school kids and pedestrians to travel along Fremont Road and it removes some of the unsightly utility poles that are dangerously close to the road.

"We appreciate support from the VTA, which partnered with our Town to fund this important project.” 

The cost of the project totals $1.08 million dollars, of which 74% was funded by the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA).  The remaining balance of the project was paid for by the Town of Los Altos Hills.
