Police Calls: Alarms Ringing, Suspicious Persons

The Los Altos Police log had an unusually large number of alarms set off, and reports of suspicious people or circumstances, and a misdemeanor warrant arrest.

 

The Los Altos Police log for Sept. 5 was full of alarms going off, both residential and commercial.

Reckless Driver

8:57 a.m., Miramonte Avenue and Avenue B; reckless driver, officer given Be-On-the-Lookout

Alarm

  • 9:39 a.m., 1200 block of Brentwood Street; Officers responded and determined to be a malfunction
  • 9:44 a.m., 2300 block of Friars Lane; panic alarm, residential alarm cancelled by alarm company
  • 10:08 a.m., 1200 block of Via  Huerta; residential alarm, cancelled by alarm company
  • 3:22 a.m., 4546 El Camino Real; audible commercial alarm, police responded, malfunction 
  • 11:10 p.m., 200 block of Alicia; residential alarm;  - Alarm company cancelled

Suspicious Person / Vehicle

  • 10:57 a.m., N.  El Monte Avenue and Mills Avenue; report of suspicious activity, officer responded and was unable to locate
  • 3:25 p.m., Solana Drive and Almond Avenue; suspicious vehicle, unable to loccate.
  • 9:41 a.m. 400 block of Damien; suspicious circumstances, unable to locate

Gas Leaf Blower

11:56 a.m., 200 block of Almond Avenue; report of gas leaf blower in use, officer responded and leaf blower was not in use.

Abandoned Vehicle

4:13 p.m., 300 block of Toyon Avenue; abandoned vehicle, officer responded and tagged vehicle

Malicious Mischief

4:17 p.m., walk in, 900 block of Manor Way; report of vandalism, officer responded to and assisted

Misdemeanor Warrant

7:47 p.m., 4896 El Camino Real ; misdemeanor warrant, arrest

Parking Complaint

8:25 p.m., 1070 Mercedes Avenue; parking complaint, citation issued
