2-Alarm Fire East Of Los Gatos Near Sierra Azul

When firefighters arrived Friday morning they found a 3,000-square-foot home near Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve fully ablaze.

LOS GATOS - Firefighters battled a two-alarm house fire east of Los Gatos Friday morning, a Santa Clara County fire spokeswoman said.

Crews responded to a report of a fire around 8 a.m. in the 15000 block of Kennedy Road around 8 a.m., fire spokeswoman Stephanie Stuehler said.

When firefighters arrived they found a 3,000-square-foot home fully involved and worked to extinguish the blaze, she said.

Part of the home’s roof collapsed on itself.

The fire was under control at about 8:50 a.m., Steuhler said. No injuries were reported.

The residence is north of the Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve in the hills east of Los Gatos.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
