Fatal South Bay Hit And Run Suspect Sought: Cops

The victim, a Gilroy man, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

GILROY, CA — Authorities are seeking the public’s help locating a suspect in connection with a fatal South Bay hit-and-run crash Monday night involving a pedestrian victim, Gilroy police said.

The crash, which was reported at 8:54 p.m., occurred in the area of Wren Avenue and El Cerrito Way, police said.

The victim, a Gilroy man, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The suspect vehicle is described as a gray or charcoal colored SUV with front-end damage, police said. The suspect vehicle was last seen fleeing the area northbound on Wren Avenue from El Cerrito Way, according to police.

“The Gilroy Police Department is looking for witnesses who may have witnessed the collision or have surveillance footage that may have captured the vehicle in the area before or after the collision,” the agency said.

The case is under investigation, police said.
