House With Meth Lab Listed At $1.55 Million In Bay Area

SAN JOSE, CA — A six-bedroom, four-bathroom house was recently listed for sale in San Jose. The home at 668 Potomac Court is just over 2,700 square feet, sits on a 6,000-square-foot lot and is priced at $1.55 million, according to Zillow.

It is also the site of an inactive meth lab.

The residence was home to Peter Karasev, arrested in March after police discovered explosives and drug-making material in the house, KTVU reported.

It last sold for $1.51 million in early 2021, and, evidently, the agent believes the property can sell for even more this time around, as the price rose $125,000 on Saturday after the house was initially listed for sale Oct. 13 on Zillow, according to the real estate website.

“Home has inactive Meth lab and meth contamination, see County docs. noting Garage location, remediation process and subsequent costs associated,” the Zillow listing said. “Home has not been cleared of contamination and will be transferred to the new buyer in its current state. No access prior to property being cleared by Santa Clara County's Health Dept.”

Karasev resided at the house with his wife and three small children when authorities accused him of planting bombs at multiple locations in San Jose, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, which reported Karasev was stockpiling guns in addition to chemicals and methamphetamine.
