Kyle Myrick Searchers Post Flyers, Continue Search
Prosecutors reveal a severed ear was found at the bloody San Jose crime scene, leading to murder charges against Steve Hlebo of Los Altos.
SAN JOSE - The organized search for a man missing and declared murdered by San Jose Police continues today. Searchers for Kyle Myrick combed areas of south San Jose and the Santa Cruz Mountains on Wednesday without luck.
Police allege Steve Hlebo, 39, of Los Altos, murdered his coworker, 28-year-old Kyle Myrick, at GP Sports in South San Jose last Friday.

Prosecutors revealed Wednesday murder charges were filed against Hlebo after a severed ear was discovered at the bloody crime scene.
The San Jose Mercury News says a statement of facts released by the Santa Clara District Attorney’s Office details how Hlebo, Myrick’s co-worker at a Cambrian neighborhood sports shop admitted to police the two mechanics got into a fight while they were working on all-terrain vehicles.

The newspaper also says that in the court document, Hlebo told an unspecified relative that he killed Myrick and dumped the body in the ocean.
