Los Gatos Man Shot At While Trying To Break Into Home: Police

He is accused of breaking a window and kicking open a rear door, when the residents fired multiple shots at him, according to police.

SANTA CLARA, CA — A Los Gatos resident was arrested in connection with a burglary at a Santa Clara home early Sunday morning that ended with a resident shooting at him, according to Santa Clara police.

The man, 26-year-old Spencer Olson, was charged with burglary. The victim is a 51-year-old male Santa Clara resident who police said is cooperating with the investigation.

The residents of the home in the 1000 block of Santa Clara Street woke up to the sounds of pounding and kicking on their doors and windows, police said. Olson is accused of breaking a window and kicking open a rear door, when the residents fired multiple shots at him, according to police.

The gunshots "immobilized" Olson, according to police.

Olson, who police said was not known to the residents, was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
