A Los Gatos resident was shot and killed in East Oakland on Tuesday night, police said.

OAKLAND - A Los Gatos resident was shot and killed in East Oakland on Tuesday night, police said.
Police responded to reports of gunshots at 10:18 p.m. in the 8900 block of International Boulevard.

Officers found the victim there suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite lifesaving measures, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The victim's name has not been released.
The Mercury News is reporting the Los Gatos man was 28; a Shot Spotter activation about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday led Oakland police to the wounded man. He was taken to an area hospital where the man died.
Sgt. Richard Vass told the Mercury police were trying to determine why the Los Gatos man was in Oakland, who may have shot him, and what the motive was.
Police have not yet provided a description of a possible suspect or suspects.
