Midpen Open Space District Asks Public To Keep Distance On Trails

The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District also announced it has temporarily closed the Windy Hill Preserve.

LOS ALTOS, CA — In an effort to keep trails and preserves open to the public, the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District is asking the public to follow current health directives to help slow the spread of COVID-19, according to a district release sent out Friday.

The district is asking people to shelter at home except when conducting essential activities including outdoor exercise.

When taking part in outdoor activities, people are asked to practice social distancing and maintain at least 6 feet from others not sharing a household.

The district has been experiencing high visitor numbers recently, according to the release.

The district also announced on Friday the Windy Hill Preserve has temporarily closed at the request of Portola Valley public officials.
