New Housing Development For Seniors Opens In San Jose

The new development is providing stable housing for nearly 100 seniors who were formerly homeless.

SAN JOSE, CA — Local leaders will join community advocates next week to celebrate a new affordable housing community designed to provide for dozens of formerly homeless seniors in San Jose's Hyde Park neighborhood.

The PATH Villas at 4th Street was developed with funding from Measure A and additional support from Google, Apple, Housing Trust Silicon Valley, Destination: Home, the National Equity Fund and Bank of America.

County officials said the recently completed community is now home to 94 seniors who have access to on-site support systems designed to foster stability, wellness and self-sufficiency. The new development also features a landscaped courtyard area and a community room with a teaching kitchen.
