Santa Clara Co. Nurses Group Pleads For Critical Supplies
Nurses group issued a plea to businesses and individuals for "critical supplies" to stop the spread of coronavirus.
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA -- A plea to the businesses and individuals for "critically needed" supplies to protect against the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus was made Thursday by.
Nurses and other health care professionals in Santa Clara County are "running dangerously low on basic medical supplies like masks, protective goggles, face shields, hand sanitizers, disinfectant wipes, and infrared thermometers," the association said in an announcement.
"County nurses are proud to serve our patients and help our community fight the deadly COVID-19 pandemic," said Debbie Chang, RN and RNPA President.

"We are answering the call to service, but we need the basic tools to do our jobs right, and do them safely.

If you or anyone you know happens to have a surplus of supplies please consider donating to our frontline healthcare professionals."
Supply needs, described as "significant and ongoing" include masks, protective goggles/face shields, hand sanitizers, disinfectant wipes, infrared thermometers, shoe covers and hair covers/surgical caps.
"As emergency physicians, we are proud to stand on the front line with our nurses, techs, physician assistants, and the additional staff integral to a Level 1 trauma center. It is our privilege to continue serving our community at SCVMC," said Jeff Chien, Medical Director of Santa Clara Valley Medical Center's Department of Emergency Medicine.
"Today, the ER physicians and I stand with our colleagues in our plea for additional personal protective equipment. This equipment makes sure front-line personnel can continue to provide care, but also to prevent the spread of COVID-19 from one patient to another. We appreciate any support that you can offer."
