SC County Courts Won’t Process Evictions Amid Coronavirus Crisis
The court said Friday that evictions won't be processed because they are not considered an essential service.
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — Santa Clara County Superior Court will not process any legal paperwork or court proceedings for evictions from a residence or commercial property during the novel coronavirus outbreak.
The court said in a news release Friday that unlawful detainers will not be processed because they are not considered an essential service at this time.
The court will consider requests for temporary stays of eviction. Santa Clara County also has a temporary moratorium on evictions prohibiting evictions until May 31.
