Detectives also obtained a search warrant for Tahara's house, located in the 1100 block of Krebs Court in San Jose, where they found multiple tactical-style rifle components in the home, leading them to believe Tahara was building and modifying similar rifles.

In addition, the handgun Tahara allegedly used to shoot the two victims is not registered and has no serial number, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Officers booked Tahara into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
