UPDATE: South Bay Traffic Advisory: Highway 17 Closed Due To Rock Slide

Southbound Highway 17 from The Cats Restaurant to Highway 9 is closed due to a rock slide. All southbound Highway 17 traffic is diverted.

UPDATE posted at 3:10 pm 2/21/17:

SOUTH BAY, CA -- Caltrans and California Highway Patrol have re-opened southbound Highway 17, and all existing Highway 17 on ramp closures in Los Gatos have been removed by Caltrans.

In addition, Los Gatos Parks and Public Works Department will be conducting road and hillside cleanup on Shannon Road between Suview Drive and Happy Acres. Shannon Road will be closed temporarily to through traffic until about 4 pm.

Los Gatos Monte Sereno Police Department has said it will have officers on scene conducting traffic control for residential traffic and emergency vehicle access only. Drivers traveling Shannon Road should consider alternate routes available and expect extended delays.

SOUTH BAY, CA — The California Highway Patrol says it has extended the closure of southbound Highway 17 from The Cats Restaurant in Los Gatos to Highway 9 due to a rock slide.

All southbound Highway 17 traffic is being diverted onto Highway 9. CHP and Caltrans has implemented full closures of all southbound Highway 17 on ramps from Highway 9 and South Santa Cruz Avenue.

The closures will remain in effect while work crews clear the slides and conduct further hazard assessment south of The Cats Restaurant.

Motorists can check the Caltrans website for the latest Highway 17 travel information.
