Stolen Vehicle Recovered From Hawkeye County Parks Deputies

The driver was arrested once county parks deputies caught up to a vehicle reported stolen by a dealership.

LOS GATOS, CA -- Conducting some swift, coordinated citizen-police work, Santa Clara County deputies assigned to the Parks and Headquarters Patrol Division arrested a man upon receiving a call of a stolen vehicle at 2:22 p.m. Sunday in the unincorporated area of Los Gatos.

The vehicle was stolen from a car dealership, which was able to track its general location and report it to the sheriff’s office. A watchful park ranger located the vehicle near Mount Umunhum Road and Hicks Road.

The vehicle took off when the suspect spotted the park ranger. Deputies were able to catch up to the vehicle near the area of Camden Avenue and Hicks Road, where the driver was taken into custody.

Deputies also recovered a possible stolen laptop computer from a local school district as well as drugs in the vehicle.
