1 Dead After Car Plunges Into Malibu Canyon: Reports
The driver of a vehicle that veered off the road and fell 100 feet into the canyon died in the crash, according to reports.
MALIBU, CA — A woman was killed Wednesday night in a crash that saw her car careen off the road and into Malibu Canyon, according to reports.
The crash occurred at around 5:30 p.m. on Malibu Canyon Road near Adamson Flat, about two miles north of Pacific Coast Highway, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Footage from KTLA showed a vehicle had fallen more than 100 feet off the cliffside into the ravine below as firefighters traversed the canyon to reach the vehicle.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner on Thursday identified the driver as Tracy Vancura, 63, of Camarillo. She died at the scene.
One witness climbed down the cliff in an attempt to help the driver.

“I saw some bystanders waving their hands and asking for help and said, ‘The car went down!'” William Mbema told KTLA. “I pulled over and we rushed down the hill and as we got closer, we saw big tree branches were folded over the car and we saw a body lying there. I was shocked.”
The crash shut down Malibu Canyon Road for a period of time Wednesday, the Times reported.
