Road Closures Planned For Malibu Ahead Of Christmas Storm

MALIBU, CA — Several major roads in the Malibu area will be closed Tuesday in anticipation of the coming storm.

Topanga Canyon Boulevard will close to the public at 9 p.m. Tuesday between Pacific Coast Highway and Grand View Drive.

Malibu Canyon Road will be open only to emergency vehicles between Francisco Ranch and Adamson Flats roads, as well as at a point just south of Piuma Road beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Tuna Canyon Road will be fully closed between Pacific Coast Highway and the gate at 2870 Tuna Canyon Road beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Additionally, evacuation warnings and orders are in place for a wide swath of Malibu, Pacific Palisades and the surrounding mountainous areas.

Officials said the roads will reopen when rainfall subsides and crews are able to safely clear any debris.
