MALIBU, CA — Don't forget to to double check the weather forecast before setting a time for that Fourth of July barbecue.
The heat has been quickly rising in Los Angeles as the summer holiday rolls around, but nothing could ruin a trip to the beach like a cloudy sky or a light drizzle.
Throughout the country, Fourth of July weather will be hit-or-miss, but Southern California will dodge rainfall affecting other parts of the country, according to AccuWeather. Malibu will see cool temperatures and partly sunny skies this holiday weekend.

In Malibu, Monday will be pretty cool. The city will see a high of 71 degrees with plenty of sunshine and only a 1 percent chance of rain, according to AccuWeather. Low clouds will shade the city in the morning, giving way to the sun.
But be sure to pack the sunscreen, the ultraviolet index will be at an extreme 11 and 12 for the entire weekend.

The weekend leading up to the holiday promises cool temps and some clouds. Saturday will bring a high of 69 degrees with partial cloudiness and Sunday will bring a high of 71 degrees with some clouds in the morning.
Drought conditions will persist throughout California through Fourth of July weekend, prompting warnings and bans on fireworks to avoid wildfires.
