Big Names in Coastal Restoration Coming Out for Malibu Lagoon Opening
The project is being billed as one of the most "ecologically significant wetlands restorations on the West Coast."
A slew of local officials, coastal conservationists and environmentalists will be on hand for a ceremony at the Malibu Lagoon later this week.
The grand re-opening is set for 11 a.m. Friday, May 3 at the Malibu Lagoon entrance at Pacific Coast Highway and Cross Creek Road.
The project, which was headed by California State Parks, was mostly completed in mid-April. Opponents of the project plan to protest the ceremony.
