Brush Fire Breaks Out In Malibu: FD

A brush fire broke out in the Santa Monica Mountains Friday afternoon, according to firefighters.

MALIBU, CA — Firefighters are battling a brush fire that broke out in the Santa Monica Mountains Friday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The fire had burned about 2 acres shortly after 2 p.m. near Camp Kilpatrick juvenile detention center on Encinal Canyon Road in Malibu.

Firefighters said there was a report of a person setting fires along Encinal Canyon Road, and sheriff's deputies were notified.
