Burglar Takes Paddles From Malibu Garage

The paddles, worth $1,100, were taken from a home on Las Flores Canyon Road.

A Malibu home's garage was burglarized last week on Las Flores Canyon Road.

The burglary was reported at 10 a.m. Feb. 10, according to the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station.

The victim said he left for work and returned to find the sliding glass door to his garage pried open and partly smashed, according to investigators. Two paddles for a paddle board, one worth $800 and another worth $300, were taken from the garage.

In an unrelated burglary, a purse and several other items were taken from a locked car on Pacific Coast Highway at Surfrider Beach in Malibu.

The vehicle burglary was reported on Feb. 16, according to investigators.

A purse with credit cards, a check book, and other items was taken, as well as a suitcase worth $200. The car's keyhole was punched in and damaged.

Both investigations are ongoing.
