Child Falls From Cliff at Escondido Falls

A 7-year-old boy fell 50 feet from a cliff at Escondido Falls Sunday in Malibu.

The fall was reported just before 3 p.m. Sunday at Escondido Falls, according to David Katz, a spokesman with the Los Angeles County sheriff's Malibu Search and Rescue.

A Los Angeles County Fire helicopter hoisted the child to safety and flew him to the UCLA Medical Center.

Crews from Malibu Search and Rescue also responded to the scene.

The youngster was treated for bumps and bruises.
