MALIBU, CA — Motorists should expect significant delays on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu Friday as Caltrans crews impose intermittent closures to accommodate slope repair work.

The closures will occur at various times throughout the day on PCH between Corral Canyon and Latigo Canyon roads through 5 p.m.

Officials said motorists should anticipate delays of up to 30 minutes and should seek alternate routes.

Crews are working on the hillside adjacent to PCH loosening rocks at risk of falling into the road.

The slope was affected by a mudslide caused by heavy rains over the winter. Although a fence and k-rails were installed to protect the roadway, more rocks and dirt recently slid down the hillside, city officials said.
