DUI Checkpoint Planned In Malibu This Weekend
Deputies plan to ramp up drunken-driving enforcement in Malibu this weekend.

MALIBU, CA — The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will ramp up drunken-driving enforcement with a DUI checkpoint in Malibu Friday night.
DUI checkpoint locations target areas with a record of impaired driving-related crashes and arrests. Police will also be checking to ensure drivers are properly licensed, according to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station.
"The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. Always follow directions for use and read warning labels about driving or 'operating heavy machinery,' which includes driving a car. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal," reads an LASD statement.
