Earthquake Strikes LA County Friday Afternoon
An earthquake jolted Los Angeles County Friday afternoon.
MALIBU, CA — An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 struck near Malibu Friday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The temblor, which struck at around 2:15 p.m., was centered around 3.1 miles north northwest of Malibu in the Santa Monica Mountains. It hit at a depth of about 6.6 miles.
Shaking was reported as far north as Ventura, as far east as San Dimas and as far south as Irvine, according to reports submitted to the USGS.

The watch commander at LA County Sheriff's Department's Malibu/Lost Hills station confirmed there were no reports of injuries or damage and that the quake "was barely felt."
