‘The Scene’

 proudly presents The Scene, written by Theresa Rebeck. Directed by Malibu resident Isabelle Mejias Fox, this dark comedy tells the story of the trendy Manhattan entertainment scene and a seemingly naïve newcomer who stirs up trouble.

The deceitfully ditsy Clea, an ingénue from Ohio, crashes like a meteorite into the Manhattan show biz scene blowing the lives and relationships of out-of-work actor Charlie, his news producer wife, Stella and their friend, Lewis, into utter chaos. This play takes on the narcissistic nature of pop culture and the ever- elusive “place to be.”

The Scene stars Malibu resident Will Carney, Pamela Donnelly, Nina Rausch and Keong Sim. It opens April 29 at 8 p.m., and runs through May 22, with shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m.
