MALIBU, CA — The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department on Saturday will set up a DUI checkpoint in Malibu.

The checkpoint will last from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. at an undisclosed location, according to the department. The department uses data on impaired-driving related crashes to pick DUI checkpoint locations, authorities said.

"Impaired drivers put other on the road at significant risk," LASD Sergeant Robert Hill said in a news release. "Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improves traffic safety."
