Fatal Crash Closes PCH In Malibu

MALIBU, CA — A fatal collision closed Pacific Coast (1) Highway late Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The collision was reported around 4:35 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department - Lost Hills Station. The crash closed all lanes in both directions on PCH between Civic Center Way and Malibu Canyon, and all northbound lanes on Malibu Canyon Road from Civic Center Way to PCH, according to the city of Malibu.

It was not immediately clear if there were additional injuries. There were no further details about the crash immediately available.

The area around the crash was packed Sunday afternoon as the Malibu Chili Cook-Off drew in massive crowds on Civic Center Way near PCH and multiple Malibu beaches reached capacity earlier Sunday afternoon.
