Forecasters Warn of Potential Fire Danger in Mountains Around Malibu
Hot weather and gusty winds are expected in Los Angeles County, including the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area next week.

The return of triple digit temperatures and gusty winds could cause elevated fire danger next week in the mountains around Malibu, according to the National Weather Service.
A fire weather watch could be issued between Sunday to Tuesday, when temperatures above 100 degrees and wind gusts between 20 to 30 mph are expected in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, forecasters warned.
Starting Sunday, a high pressure system will move in, bringing temperatures in the 90s to the coastal areas, including Malibu, and well above 100 degrees inland.
