Grand Reopening Set For Malibu Lagoon
The restoration project, which was led by California State Parks, wrapped up in March.
A ceremony is set for May to mark the reopening of the Malibu Lagoon following a months-long restoration project.
The reopening is scheduled for May 3, according to Craig Sap, Superintendent for California State Parks Angeles District, who did not include a time for the ceremony.
The Santa Monica Bay Restoration Foundation, which was involved in the project, said early data shows the Malibu Lagoon has already improved, especially with higher dissolved oxygen levels, lower algae, better circulation and tidal inundation.
