Hiker Injured Near Newton Canyon
A runner was injured near Newton and Kanan canyons in Malibu.
A 64-year-old man was injured Sunday while running near Newton and Kanan canyons Sunday morning.
Malibu Search and Rescue and Los Angeles County Fire personnel responded to a report of an injured runner at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, said David Katz, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Malibu SAR.
Paramedics found the man, who had a broken clavicle, a short hike from the trailhead, Katz said.
The man was hiked out to an ambulance, and he was taken to a nearby hospital.
