'Hot Prowl' Burglary: Authorities Search For Suspects
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Lost Hills Station solicited the public's help finding suspects in a Malibu burglary.

MALIBU, CA — Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Lost Hills Station is searching for suspects following a "hot prowl" robbery in Malibu Wednesday evening.
Those involved had already left the scene when deputies arrived, according to the Lost Hills station. Deputies went to the scene Thursday morning to collect evidence, speak with neighbors and look at surveillance footage.
The robbery was a "hot prowl," which means the homeowner was in the house when the intruders entered. The robbery took place around 9 p.m. Wednesday evening on the 18000 block of Wakecrest Drive, authorities said. Authorities believe the robber or robbers were scared off by a neighbor.

"Hot prowl" burglaries are not common in Malibu, according to the Lost Hills station. Even still, residents should keep their doors locked, have well-lit pathways leading to the house and ensure full visibility from windows, according to deputies.
