Malibu Activist Arrested at Trancas Shopping Center

Cindy Vandor is accused of blaring her horn at construction trucks at the Trancas shopping Center in Malibu and refusing to cooperate with deputies.

A Malibu activist was arrested Monday on suspicion of resisting sheriff's deputies after honking her horn and yelling profanities at truck drivers at the Trancas shopping center.

Cindy Vandor, who has been outspoken at Malibu City Council meetings about public safety at the Trancas shopping center and other issues, was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Monday, according to Lt. Jim Royal of the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station.

She was allegedly using profanity against the truck drivers at the shopping center, which is under construction.

Vandor is accused of refusing to cooperate with deputies and to sign a ticket for excessive horn honking, Royal said.

She was taken to the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station where she will be cited and released, he said.

Vandor did not respond to a request for an interview.
