Malibu Announces Slate of Candidates for City Council

This year's Malibu's General Municipal Elections will be held on ​Nov. 8 to coincide with Los Angeles County elections.

MALIBU, CA — The Malibu City Clerk's Office has finalized the list of qualified candidates vying for three open seats on the City Council.

The three seats are currently being held by council members Joan House, Skylar Peak and John Sibert. Both House and Sibert are termed out and ineligible for re-election.

This year's Malibu's General Municipal Elections will be held on Nov. 8. Last year the city council voted to consolidate city elections with Los Angeles County elections, which are conducted on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of even-numbered years, in a bid to increase voter turnouts.
