Malibu Beach Supply Co. More Than A Gift Shop

Located at the end of the Malibu Pier, the Malibu Beach Supply Co. offers an array of merchandise and artwork from local sources.

"It was originally a gift store, but I've turned it to be more of a story about Malibu," said Joshua Klein, the store's retail director.

The store is open all year, unlike the empty restaurants on the pier. Plans are in the works to bring in a restaurant that will be open year-round.

Merchandise in the store ranges from chap-stick, bait and tackle to high-end, vintage items like an original Malibu Tile table. Prices range from $1.50 to $1,500, according to Klein.

"We get the tourist foot traffic, but we're hoping for the locals to come in," Klein said.
