Malibu Budget Rent A Car Stays Open With Slight Change

After considering closure, Malibu's only rental car company has decided to remain open with a few changes.

Malibu Budget Rent A Car, which is located at 22853 Pacific Coast Highway near Sweetwater Canyon, had originally been slated to close its doors Thursday due to issues with the rent.

Branch manager Mario Olguin said "everything changed" Thursday without providing further details.

"This was supposed to be the last day, but we will stay," Olguin said.

The company -- the only car rental business in Malibu -- will no longer offer moving truck rentals, only cars, he said.

"We don't do moving trucks anymore," said Olguin, who said he was transferred from Pasadena to the Malibu location Thursday.

The rental car compay's hours will remain the same from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.
