Malibu/Lost Hills Detectives Honored for Thwarting Kidnapping Suspect
The city of Malibu honors the sheriff's detectives eight months after the kidnapping of a P.C. Greens employee.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Malibu/Lost Hills Detective Bureau was honored Monday for its actions in thrawting a dangerous kidnapping suspect last summer.
"Job well done," Malibu Mayor Pro Tem Joan House said as she handed out commendations to 10 members of the bureau.
Rudy Zendejas, 27, was arrested in July by the Malibu/Lost Hills Station detectives on suspicion of kidnapping his wife at gunpoint as she left work from P.C. Greens in Malibu.

Zendejas allegedly forced her to drive to a poorly lit residential area near Gramercy Street in Los Angeles where he raped her in the car. He then fled, and the victim worked with the detectives to lure him to a McDonalds, where he was arrested.
Detectives searched Zendejas and found a semi-automatic hand gun, ammunition and a farewell note asking for forgiveness from family and friends.
