Commissioners OK New Chinese Eatery
Malibu Wok is slated to open at the Malibu Colony Plaza.

The Malibu Planning Commission gave the OK to plans for Malibu Wok to open at the Malibu Colony Plaza, filling the space left by Barrel Malibu.
Commissioners approved a conditional use permit for the Chinese restaurant in a 5-0 vote, with the requirement that they remove two gates on an outdoor patio in order to make the area ADA compliant.
"We found that during our study of this site the gates were installed without benefit of a permit," Malibu's Principal Planner Stefanie Edmondson said.

The restaurant, which already received approval of a permit to serve beer and wine from ABC, is owned by Sacha Fattahi, who operates two Subway restaurants in Malibu.
Commissioners approved the hours of operation from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
