Malibu’s Annual Egg Hunt 'Hoppening' Friday

The event will feature bounce houses, photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting, art activities, prizes and other activities.

MALIBU, CA -- The city of Malibu’s popular annual Egg Hunt and Easter Hoppening offer fun, free springtime activities for children and families on Friday, April 14 at Malibu Bluffs Park. Children ages 1-10 can join the fun with Easter Hoppening festivities starting at 3 p.m.

The event will feature bounce houses ($5), photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting, art activities, cartoon demonstrations by Larry Scott, a special character appearance from Fairy Tale Entertainment, prizes and more. Delicious treats will be available for purchase from the Grilled Cheese truck, Sweet Dessert Truck.

Yowie Chocolates will be providing special give-a-ways at the event. Yowie is a chocolate candy that brings animal and environmental conservation messaging to the world with a Yowie character and capsule containing replica animal collectibles, many of which are endangered.

The egg hunt will follow a timed format this year. Children may collect as many or as few eggs as they want and turn them in for a special prize. There are several different Egg Hunts scheduled for children of different ages:

  • 3:30 p.m.: Ages 3-4
  • 4 p.m.: Ages 5-7
  • 4:30 p.m.: Ages 8-10
  • 5 p.m.: Family Egg Hunt

A play area for children ages 1-2 will be open from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Participants should bring a basket and camera. The events are free and open to the public, with no RSVP required. Bluffs Park is located at 24250 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu CA 90265.
