The Red Cross is using our Old Gym as an evacuation site, possibly until Sunday.  There will be school and district staff monitoring any arrivals to be certain this does not interfere with school and our students.

We have asked the teachers to keep their rooms open for students at nutrition time.

MHS Principal Jerry Block, who lives in fire threatened Newbury Park, sent out a statement early Friday:

Dear Parents,

Malibu High School will be open today (Friday, May 3). We understand that, depending on where you live, conditions may be difficult. Please put the safety of your family and your home first and do not take unnecessary risks to get to school.

As far as after school activities today, such as the middle school dance and athletic activities, we are taking a wait and see approach with them. Please check your email periodically today for further updates.

Be safe and take care.
