MALIBU, CA — Authorities are searching for a 17-year-old girl with autism who was missing Thursday morning after she was last seen in the unincorporated Topanga area of Los Angeles County near Malibu.

Katherine Sanford was last seen about 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 22000 block of Canon Drive, west of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

She is white, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 100 pounds and has short brown hair and hazel eyes, the department said.

Anyone with information on Sanford's whereabouts was asked to call the Sheriff's Malibu/Lost Hills station at 818-878-1808.
