New 39-Room Hotel Planned In Malibu
The City of Malibu approved a 39-room hotel in Malibu on Billionaire's Beach.
MALIBU, CA — Malibu will be getting a new hotel on Billionaire's Beach, a project that has been in the works for years, according to The Malibu Times.
The hotel will have 39 rooms, a spa and a restaurant open to guests and the public.
Construction is expected to be finished in January 2023, according to a document prepared by the city. Before the building can begin, Developer Norm Haynie will knock down an old gas station at 22729 Pacific Coast Highway and take over an office building 22741 Pacific Coast Highway, The Malibu Times reported.

The hotel will be built under a couple of conditions from the city; the building will have machinery that will increase water supply in Malibu during emergency events. Additionally, the hotel will have limits on gatherings that Haynie said may have killed the project, according to The Malibu Times.
