Pedestrian Struck By Tanker On PCH Identified By Authorities

MALIBU, CA — The pedestrian who was fatally struck by a tanker truck on Pacific Coast Highway Friday was publicly identified by authorities on Monday.

Dimitri Failla, 32, died from blunt force injuries, the Medical Examiner's office reported.

Failla was struck at around 6:35 a.m. Friday on PCH near Cross Creek Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene and was interviewed by authorities, deputies said.

PCH was shut down in the area for about four hours during the investigation, according to the Sheriff's Department.
