Ventura Plane Crash: One Fatality Confirmed, No Other Injuries Reported
One plane has been located, and at least one death was reported.

VENTURA COUNTY, CA — One person was killed in a small plane crash in Ventura County on Thursday, authorities said.
The crash was reported around 12:10 p.m. northwest of Ventura City, around Taylor Ranch near Solimar Beach, Ventura County Fire spokesman Steve Swindle said. Early reports suggested it was a mid-air collision between two planes, but authorities have not found the second plane.
So far only one plane crash and one fatality was confirmed, Swindle said. No other injuries were reported, he said. The identity of the deceased was not released.

"The type of the aircraft is not known at this time," FAA spokesman Allen Kenitzer said. The plane crashed north of Ventura City, near the 101 freeway and Taylor Ranch Road, he said.
Some residents reported debris falling onto their properties. Multiple agencies assisted in the search and recovery efforts, including the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

A temporary flight restriction has been placed for 5,000 feet above and within 2 mile radius of the crash site. The National Transportation Safety Board has taken over the the investigation, which will continue through the night, Swindle said.
