Plate Restaurant, L.A. Regional Food Bank Team up to Fight Hunger

Plate Restaurant in Malibu is partnering with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to raise funds for the hungry.

The event, which is $60 a seat, is set for Tuesday, April 9. Every dollar donated supplies four meals, according to Natalia Hoyos, an organizer.

The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, has distributed more than 1 billion pounds of food.

The event is being put on by a group of Pepperdine University public relations students, who are working with the L.A. Regional Food Bank in a service learning initiative.
