SCE Plans To Cut Power In Parts Of Malibu Next Week
SCE crews will be upgrading aging infrastructure and completing other repairs to increase future system reliability.
MALIBU, CA — Southern California Edison (SCE) is planning a temporary power shut-off to perform maintenance on the electrical system in several areas of Malibu next week, from January 27 to February 2.
"In order to perform this work safely, SCE must temporarily interrupt electric service and turn off power," the City of Malibu said. "These outages will allow SCE crews to upgrade aging infrastructure, make needed improvements, and complete other repairs to increase system reliability in the future."

- Starting: 8 a.m. on Thursday, January 30
- Ending: 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 30
- Affected Area: 6200 block of Merritt Drive

- Starting: 9 p.m. on Sunday, February 2
- Ending: 5 a.m. on Monday, February 3
- Affected Area: 6000 block of Trancas Canyon Road and the 30800 block of Broad Beach Road
Power may be off for the whole period or may be turned off more than once, the City said. The planned outages may not begin exactly at the stated start time, and some conditions may cause the planned outages to be postponed.
"The times noted are SCE's best estimate and circumstances may affect both the start time and the completion time indicated above," the City of Malibu said.
