Firefighter Injured, 3 Pets Killed In Malibu Blaze
Firefighters were able to knock down the fire at the 23900 block of civic Center Way within 60 minutes.

MALIBU, CA — One firefighter was minorly injured and several pets were killed in a two-alarm apartment fire in Malibu on Tuesday.
Firefighters received the call around 8:10 a.m. about the blaze inside two apartment units at the 23900 block of Civic Center Way, a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher said. Within 30 minutes, the blaze was upgraded to a second alarm because of the heavy flames and a threat to a third unit, the dispatcher said.
One firefighter suffered a first-degree burn and three pets were killed in the blaze, a fire inspector said.

The fire was doused around 9:20 a.m. and confirmed knocked out on all three units at 9:25 a.m., the dispatcher said.
The fire forced the evacuation of the two-story building. The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
