Carver, who was a driver for Camarillo-based Platinum Tow and Transport, left behind his wife, Kristy, and their two daughters and a son.
"We've been receiving some donations," said Bill Paymard, owner of Platinum Towing. Paymard said he has so far handed over nearly $4,000 to the family directly because it was too difficult to open a special bank account.

He said that the funeral was held last Saturday and helped many at the company to receive some closure, but it has been difficult.
"This was a very senseless act that leaves three kids fatherless," Paymard said.
Anyone who wants to help the family with funeral or other expenses can send a check made out to Kristy Carver to Platinum Tow and Transport, 938 W. Verdulera St., Camarillo.
