1st Halloween Golf Cart Parade In Manhattan Beach Huge Success

More than 40 Neighborhood Electric Vehicles took to the streets of Manhattan Beach for a fun-filled Halloween costume parade cruise.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Forty-three golf carts turned out for the 1st Annual Halloween Gold Cart Parade in Manhattan Beach yesterday. The brainchild of Manhattan Beach mom and Neighborhood Electric Vehicle enthusiast Shawn Giaconi, the inaugural event was a major success.

"The parade yesterday was amazing!" said Giaconi. "We had 43 carts! I loved how happy and excited the golf cart drivers and passengers were as we lined up [near Pacific Elementary School] and more carts just kept pulling up. Some carts were extremely impressive and went all out and every person was dressed in costume!

"I will definitely be hosting the parade each year. It's exciting to know a new tradition has been made. When we drove around town and saw the reactions from people of all ages, it was incredible! I absolutely loved that we had spectators anticipating us! Surprising folks was a treat, too. You could see their happy expressions as they waved at the passing train of golf carts."

Giaconi has created a group called Manhattan Beach Golf Cart Crew to help inform area golf cart owners of upcoming events. A golf cart drive-in movie night is currently in the planning stages and she anticipates holding parades on major holidays such as Christmas and the 4th of July.
