2 Nabbed in Manhattan Beach Following Routine Traffic Stop

Police found stolen mail, drugs, bullets and a handgun inside the car.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA -- Two people were arrested Thursday morning for suspicion of mail theft and drug offenses, the Manhattan Police Department said.

The pair, the driver and passenger, were arrested following a routine traffic stop at around 1:50 a.m. in the area of 14th Street and Ocean Drive. During the traffic stop, officers found stolen mail, drugs, bullets and a handgun inside the car, police said.

The pair were booked on several felonies offenses. Their names, ages and sex were not released.

Police did not reveal why the pair were initially stopped.
